Marjorie Ann (Sickinger) Gliatta

Marjorie Ann (Sickinger) Gliatta, 95 of Milan, Ohio passed onto the Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 after a long and loving life.

Marjorie was born on November 7, 1920 in Huron, Ohio to the late Clifford and Grace (Krelich) Sickinger and resided in Milan most of her life.

Marjorie graduated for Milan High School in 1938. After high school she attended Toledo University and graduated from Sandusky Business School. She worked at Plum Brook Ordinance from 1941 to 1945 helping the war effort in Sandusky, Ohio and also worked in Benicia, CA. She retired from Milan Post Office in 1982 after 23 years service. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of Thunderbird Ladies Golf Association for many years.

Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, some of which were gardening, a variety of crafts, sewing, watercolor painting and traveling to 48 of the 50 states, and visiting Europe. She enjoyed playing cards, games with her family and grandchildren. Marge was also an enthusiastic golfer and played until age 90.

She is survived by her six children, whom she dearly loved. Pamela (Robert) Faehnle of Chardon, OH, Diane (Dale) Strahm of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Tacey) Gliatta and Robert (Susan) Gliatta both of Milan, Cynthia (Michael) O'Brien of Circleville, NY and Annette (Kevin) Wray of Whitehouse, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Brian, Bradley and Brett Strahm, Andrew, Nicholas and Jeffrey Faehnle, Melissa, Andrea and Tannen Gliatta, Bart Raub Gliatta, Brooke Spaulding, Megan Severyn and Michelle Bruggeman; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Brunow of Milan and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Leonard Gliatta and her brother Dr. Glen Sickinger.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 South Main St., Milan, OH. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 145 Center St, Milan with Monsignor Ken Morman presiding. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.
