Ryan James Arthur

Ryan James Arthur was a funny, loving, creative, and well-loved man. He had a deep love of music and film, and spent most of his life pursuing both with great success. Ryan received countless awards and accolades for his work in music, film, and marketing, and served as a mentor to many in those fields. He was a loving father to three exceptional children and shared a close bond with both of his siblings and his parents; in turn, they all adored him. Sadly, Ryan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Although he left too soon, Ryan leaves this world a better place for having been a part of it.

Ryan was born in Sandusky on April 20, 1977.

He attended Huron High School, Ohio State University, and after a period of traveling, settled back here on the shores of Lake Erie. He was active in the music scene as part of a local band and percussion director of the Huron High School marching band, and had a short film accepted and screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Ryan was actively involved in his children's lives and activities; he enjoyed autumn, picking apples with his family, and making spectacular Halloween costumes. He loved Christmas and began collecting Nutcrackers as a child. He also had an uncanny ability to memorize funny lines from movies after hearing them only once, which amused his family and friends immensely.

He is survived by his father, James A. Arthur; his mother, Barbara L. (Kaatz) Moore; step-father, Richard Moore; his children, Bennett, Olivia and Amelia Arthur; silbings, Jennifer Arthur and Rex Arthur; maternal grandfather, Robert Kaatz; maternal grandmother, Georgia Morehead; nephew. Enzo Capizzi; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and close friends Amanda Arthur, Andrea Smith, and Chris Shirley.

Ryan was preceded in death by Albert, Juanita, and William Arthur.

A celebration of Ryan's life will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Please join us at Mesenburg Banquet Hall, 545 Cleveland Rd., Huron, Ohio, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, to remember this witty and sweet son, brother, father, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ryan Arthur's name to NAMI of Erie Ottawa County, 110 Linden St., Port Clinton, OH, 43452.
