Clarence Reginald Francis, 68, residing in Huron, passed away, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born on September 7, 1948 in St. John, Antigua, British West Indies to parents James Francis and Veda Nathaniel and was raised by Sam Clemens, who he affectionately called "Godfather. "Clarence resided in Antigua until his teenage years and relocated to St. Croix. While in St. Croix, Clarence finished high school and attended The University of the Virgin Islands.

As a young man in his twenties, Clarence decided to move to the mainland, New York City. While in New York City, Clarence was employed for 34 years at the Rancanelli Printing Company. He was a hard working and dedicated father. Clarence was a committed and dedicated friend to many in the British West Indies and in New York and those friendships were maintained until his passing.

Clarence moved to Sandusky, Ohio in 2009, where he was baptized in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 28, 2010 at The Emmanuel Temple Church, under the pastorate of Bishop Rufus G. W. Sanders. At Emmanuel Temple, Clarence was a member of the Brotherhood Department and was a loyal supporter of the Junior Sunday School Department. He enjoyed church activities and the music program. His favorite scripture was Galatians 5:1 "be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Clarence was united in holy matrimony to Amy Sanders on September 25, 2010. The couple enjoyed reading scriptures, entertaining friends and family with Antiguan cuisine, and attending church and faith-based activities. Clarence was an avid viewer of political news and would often engage in conversation on these matters. He also enjoyed engaging his friends in long telephone conversations.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Amy Francis; daughters Natasha James, Melissa Francis, and Rebecca Francis. Grandchildren, Latasia, Chazz, Eythan, and London. Clarence's siblings include Claude Winston Parker (Lydia), of New York, Thronel Clemens, California; Gweneth Clemens, Michigan; Malcolm Clemens, North Carolina; Alex Clemens (Sabrina), Indiana; Pathrona Clemens George (Miguel), Illinois; Francine Joseph, Dr. Genova Singleton, Illinois, and Lynette Thomas (Maxwell), Georgia.
