William Conway, Sr. "Tump,"

William Conway, Sr. "Tump," 87, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Firelands Regional Medical Center with his wife and family by his side.

William was born on November 4, 1929 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Willie Conway and Alberta Anderson.

At the age of 20 he met and married the love of his life, Catheree Odessa Davis, whom he fondly referred to as "Honey." During their 67 year marriage, they gave birth to 11 beautiful children. In 1971, William and Catheree moved their family to Sandusky.
William was a hardworking man, always willing to help anyone in need. He had an unforgettable laugh that was contagious and loved by all. He was an avid videographer, documenting precious family moments throughout the years.

During his lifetime he worked as a farmer and a truck driver. After moving to Ohio, he worked at Waldocks for 5 years before going to work for the Ford Motor Company, where he retired 16 years later. William loved to travel (as long as he could get there by car). He also loved to fish, garden, build, and fix things (for a long time he had a love for the Home Shopping Network, and the whole family benefitted from that). He enjoyed watching old western movies, wrestling, and eating at his favorite restaurant, Ryan's.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his best friend and wife of 67 years, Catheree Conway; four sons, Charles (Margaret) Conway, Dave Conway, Rayburn (Sheng) Conway, and Early (Trudy) Conway; four daughters, Linda (Vernon) Floyd, Patricia Berry, Janice Neal, and Pearl Conway; five sisters; Kathleen Lloyd, Lucille Conway, Hattie Bryant, Nora Noble, and Magnolia Taylor; two brothers; Willie and DJ Conway; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; Argentry, Houston, Rentyle, Frank, and Ollie Lee; three sisters; Lillie Pearl, Nona, and Charlene; and three sons, Jimmy, Willie, and William Conway, Jr.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral services at 12 Noon at Mount Zion C.O.G.I.C, 1814 Second St., Sandusky, Ohio. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
