Chandis G. "Dick" and/or "Poppy" Farrington

Chandis G. "Dick" and/or "Poppy" Farrington, 88, of Sandusky passed away Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2017 in the Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, Huron following a brief illness.

He was born May 13, 1928 in Union County, Ohio and had lived most of his life in Sandusky.

He was employed for 32 years at the Ford Motor Company, Sandusky Plant, retiring in 1992. Dick loved to ride around downtown Sandusky, always checking out the Sandusky Bay.

He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Blatnik of Sandusky, Kerry (Dale) Bledsoe of Castalia and Margie (John) Hougendobler of Kenton, Ohio; two sons, Scott Farrington of Sandusky and Jack (Diana) Engle of Amherst, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Madison, Jessica and Rylee Bledsoe, Logan Farrington, Missy and Jed Hougendobler; one great daughter, Ava Bledsoe; three brothers, Bob (Nancy) Farrington of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Murl (Judy) Farrington of Kenton, Ohio and Dallas (Peg) Farrington of West Mansfield, Ohio; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 1996; one son, Tom Farrington in 1989; grandson, Levi Farrington, 2014; two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Ken Hiser of Faith Memorial Church will officiate. Committal services will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
