Lelia Emeline (Power) Funk

Lelia Emeline (Power) Funk, 93, of Willard, Ohio, was received into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on March 10, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born August 18, 1923 to Rev. William and Alelia (Sargent) Power in Mechanicstown, Ohio, the sixth of ten children.

Lelia graduated from North Fairfield High School in 1941, and from Warner Beauty College in 1942. She owned her own beauty shop until 1951. On September 26, 1943 she married Emmons E. Funk Sr. at the North Fairfield Methodist Church by her father, Rev. William Power.

Church was a very important part of her life, teaching Bible School, directing youth choir, and playing organ and piano for church services for 32 years.

She was a 4-H Advisor for the Greenfield Happy Go Lucky Club for 15 years, the Huron County Extension Advisory Board for 8 years, member and office of the Huron Road Farm Women's Club, and member of the State Board. Lelia was also a member of the Huron County ADAMHS Board for 11 years, was honored as Senior Citizen of the year in 1969, and was a member of numerous other service clubs.

She was preceded in death by her son, Emmons E. Funk, II in 1969 (Vietnam), by her husband, Emmons E. Funk Sr. in 2001, by her sisters, Maragueritte Alltop, Pauline Chase, Ruth Wegener, Lola Giles, and Naomi Wasson, and by her brothers, Robert, Bashford, Charles, and Bill.

Lelia is survived by her children, Pauline Daugherty, JoAnne Miller, Bill Funk, and Jon (Amy) Funk, by her daughter in law, Marjorie (Chuck) Pifher, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and 3 step great great grandchildren.

She was known as a compassionate person, and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, 105 West Main Street, North Fairfield, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Timothy McCollum, and Rev. Elvin Fox will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth, Ohio.
