Charles Norman Holiday Sr.

Charles Norman Holiday Sr., age 88, residing Sandusky, died Saturday evening, May 13, 2107, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

He was born to Moses and Sarah Frances Harvin Holiday in Wellsburg, West Virginia on February 28th, 1929.

A graduate of Lincoln High School in 1947 and a recipient of an Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration. Charles was drafted into the United States Army in January 1948 where he pursued a 24 year career before retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 1972. Upon moving to Sandusky in 1972, he worked for GM and Citizens Bank.

He was a member and longtime Secretary of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Sandusky and attended Second Baptist Church, Sandusky in his later years. Charles served as Secretary of New St John Lodge NO.192 of International F & A.M. Masons and on various community boards in the City.

He is survived by a son, Charles Norman Holiday Jr and wife Tammy Holiday; grandchildren, Tarena, Marcus, and Damien; great- grandchildren, Martin, Tia, Zoey and Tiana; He will be missed by many nieces and nephews along with his extended family, friends and companion Mrs. Elizabeth Ruffin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie V. (Toni) Holiday; four brothers, Eugene, Marion, Moses Jr and Frederick Holiday; sisters, Ethel Toney, Anna Johnson, and Helen Adams.

Friends may call on Friday, May 19th from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson Jr. will officiate. Burial will followed in Oakland Cemetery, where the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard will hold military services.
