Rhoda A. (Pfleiderer) Notestine, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away suddenly Sunday evening, October 22, 2017 at The Meadows at Osborn Park.
Rhoda was born on February 16, 1931 in Cleveland, OH to the late Jim and Mabel (Pfleiderer) Rumford. She was raised by her grandmother, Carrie Pfleiderer.
Rhoda retired from the former Providence Hospital in housekeeping in 1995 after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Sandusky Eagles #444. Rhoda loved her pets, she enjoyed taking care her cats, and the neighborhood cats. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Rhoda is survived by her daughters, Carole (Ralph) Braker of Norwalk, Carole Ann (Mark) Semprich of Bayview and Ginny (Frank) Fox of Sandusky; grandchildren, Shelly, Shanda, Gary, Chris Semprich, Rita (Victor) Dass, Tanya (Jake) Higley and Dawn; several great-grandchildren; special friend, Louise Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rhoda is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Notestine in 1986; daughter, Judy Notestine; son, Gary Lee Pfleiderer; grandson, Frankie Fox; companion, Roger Notestine; uncle, Carl J. Pfleiderer and step-sister, LaDonna Gibson.
Special thanks to her nieces who have taken care of her at The Meadows at Osborn Park, JoDee, Heidee, Doe Dee and Dave.
A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date. Burial will take place in Castalia Cemetery. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
