Marian I. (Ringholz) Stanley

Marian I. (Ringholz) Stanley, 96, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, November 15, 2017 at her daughter's residence, just four short months after her husband, Charles' passing.

Marian was born on April 2, 1921 in Sandusky, OH to the late Stephen S. and Christina (Stritzel) Ringholz.

Marian was a 1939 graduate of St. Mary's High School and graduated from Sandusky Business College in 1941. She had been employed at Periodical Publishing and Trojan Powder Company. Marian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was on the council of catholic women and served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a volunteer at the former Memorial and Providence Hospitals. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing and crocheting.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth (Peter) Garvin of Cuyahoga Falls; six sons, Charles (Liz) Stanley Jr. of Louisville, KY, Stephen (Linda) Stanley of Cumberland, MD, Thomas Stanley of FL, Paul (Rose) Stanley of Sandusky, Clarence "Cal" (Theresa) Stanley of Tucson, AZ and Craig (Kathy) Stanley of Dallas, TX; 39 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Marian is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Charles H. Stanley; sons, John and Richard Stanley; granddaughter, Jonelle Stanley; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Dick, Henrietta Tight, Coletta Cheshire and Agnes in infancy; brothers, Norbert and Sylvester Ringholz.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 am on Monday, November 20, 2017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
