Audrey J. Borgia

Audrey J. Borgia, 83, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 24, 2017 in Norwalk Memorial Home, of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

She was born December 11, 1933 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Stanley H. and Mary M. (Doughty) Strong, and was a lifelong area resident.

Audrey was a graduate, and class president, of St. Paul High School class of 1952. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was a member of the Women of St. Paul, a Eucharistic minister, and volunteered many hours as a "heavenly duster", and perpetual adoration attendant. Audrey was a former Huron County Sheriff's Deputy, and Matron of the Huron County Jail for 25 years.

Audrey delivered Meals on Wheels for over 30 years, enjoyed swimming at the Norwalk Rec Center, and was a member of the Huron County MMRD Board. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and found great comfort at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, Ohio. Audrey was a loving wife and mother, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Borgia, by her children, Stan (Beverley) Borgia of Alexandria, Virginia, Diana "DeeDee" (John) McCarty of Norwalk, Ohio, Donna (Steve) Barber of Findlay, Ohio, and Cindy (Drew) Holwerda of Grand Rapids, MI, by 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Audrey is also survived by her siblings, Stanley Strong of Keizer, Oregon, Norma Jones of Norwalk, Ohio, and Mary Ann (Richard) Parish of Norwalk, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, and by her brother in law, Dean Jones.

Friends may call on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Tony Borgia will officiate.
