Donna Jean (Puckrin) Rice, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Monday morning, November 27, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Donna was born on June 28, 1940 in Sandusky, OH to the late Wilson and Janet (Marshall) Puckrin.
Donna graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958 and received her Bachelor of Education from Heidelburg University. She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, where she also participated in the bell choir. Donna was on the Erie County 4-H board and 4-H camp counselor, she was also a member of Eastern Stars. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, spending time on the family farm and being with her family, she especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Donna is survived by her husband, Carl Rice, whom she married on June 23, 1962. She is also survived by her daughter, Kristen (Chris) Henninger of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Will, Andy, Geoff, Paul and Alexis; son-in-law, Joel Riegelmayer of Medina, OH; sister, Ruth Ann Van Fleet of Sandusky; brothers, Bill Puckrin and Allen (Jean) Puckrin both of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Riegelmayer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH. Pastor Gerald Fenske will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
