James "Jim" R. Miller, Sr.

James "Jim" R. Miller, Sr., 73, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born on July 18, 1944 in Sandusky to the late Jack and Ida Mae (Livengood) Miller. He attended Sandusky High School and worked several jobs in the area, most notably as an operator at the former Rambling Wheels skating rink.

Jim loved to volunteer, and spent time at the Senior Center and with Erie County Cancer Services. He enjoyed living downtown, and took advantage of all that Sandusky has to offer: often walking in the parks and on the pier, and attending events like Party at the Plaza and band concerts at the gazebo. He was an avid collector of wolves. He was also a collector, in general, and would gift his treasures to everyone he knew. Most treasured to Jim, however, were his grand- and great-grandkids.

Jim is survived by his three sons, Charles (Robin) Miller, Bob (Bea) Miller, and Jim (Aimee) Miller, Jr., all of Sandusky; grandchildren, Justin Miller, Erin (James) Fedele, Katie Miller, Kristen Miller, Sadie Miller, Jason Miller, Jaclyn Miller, Samantha Miller, and Santana and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jaymes, Janelle, Aaliyah, Olivia, Jordan, Jacob, and Jazlyn; brother, Donald Miller; former wife and friend, Rosemary Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Ronnie, Ray, and Marilyn.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. on Friday, December 8 until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
