Clara May Weisenberger

Clara May Weisenberger, age 90, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2011 at Twilight Gardens Nursing Center. 

She was born May 22, 1921 in Norwalk and was a 1940 graduate of St. Paul High School.  She was a loving mother, raised her five children and later worked at JC Penny’s retiring after many years.  She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and active with the funeral choir and chorale group, rosary and altar society, Eucharistic minister, co-chair of the annual rummage sale and involved with the church ladies quilting group.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating cakes and crocheting and attending St. Paul School sporting events. 

She is survived by her children, Gerald “Tex” Weisenberger of Norwalk, Cathy (Lester) Tucker of Collins, James Weisenberger of Norwalk, Charles “Pucky” Weisenberger of Norwalk and Rita (Fred) Bender of Norwalk; grandchildren, Sherry Naegele, Charles (Mitzi) Tucker, Jeffrey Pridemore and Steven Pridemore; great-grandchildren, Trevor Tucker, Masyn Naegele and Ethan Tucker; sisters-in-law, Rita McMahon and Lucille Trendy; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Weisenberger in 1999; parents, Eugene and Olive (Reister) Englert; siblings, Paul Englert, Joseph Englert, Norbert Englert, Mary Catherine Englert, Helen Ruth Linder and Josephine in infancy; and three granddaughters in infancy. 

Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, where a wake service will be at 8:00 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk.  The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of the church, will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
