Louis E Wagner

Louis E. Wagner, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018.

Louis was born on June 2, 1925 in Sandusky, OH to the late Louis B. and Evelyn (Baus) Wagner.

Louis graduated from Sandusky High School in 1943. He was a Veteran of the US Merchant Marines Coast Guard who proudly served his country during WWII in all the major theatres. He was employed at the former Apex Electric Company and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1977 after 22 years of service in the personnel-labor relations department. Louis was a member of the First United Church of Christ, the American Legion Post #83, VFW Post #2529, AMVETS Post #17 and a member of the Maritime Museum, where he was active. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed boating on the Great Lakes

Louis is survived by his wife, Ellen (Benfield) Wagner, whom he married on April 30, 1949. He is also survived by his niece, Judy (Richard) Cross of Sandusky.

In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Wagner in 1967 and his sister, Betty Wagner.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 10:30 until the time of funeral services at 11:30am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Wally Gilbert will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
