Patricia "Patty Jean" Loolen

Patricia “Patty Jean” Loolen, 79, formerly of Berlin Heights and Norwalk, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ken Toft in Thorntown, IN.

 

She was born on February 20, 1932 in Berlin Heights.

 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Norwalk, and the auxiliary of the American Legion.  She volunteered at Fisher-Titus Hospital for 6000 hours or 30+ years.  She bowled on Charlie’s Angels team for years.

 

Patty was a homemaker, and her entire life was devoted to her family.  She loved her grandchildren and watching them in their activities.  She had a servant’s heart, and always wanted to help others.  She lived with her daughter, Pam, in Indiana for the last three years.

 

Patty is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Ron) Begley, New Mexico, Sandy (LeRoy) Carroll, Castalia, OH, and Pam (Ken) Toft, Indiana; her grandchildren, Ben Begley, Abby Jewel, Andrew Carroll,  Amanda Carroll,  Kegan Toft, and Foster Toft; and her sister-in-law, Emma Rose Trepinski, California.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland C. Loolen, on May 16, 1984; and her mother, Eva C. Werner.

 

Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 87 W. Main St., Norwalk.  The Reverend Margaret D’Anieri will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following organizations in memory of Patty Loolen:  St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Organ Fund, Nightingale Hospice, 1036 S .Rangeline Rd., Carmel, IN, 46032, Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line Rd., Sandusky, OH, 44870, Northcoast Cancer Care, P.O.
