Vivian L. Eckler

Vivian L. Eckler, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in the Carriage House of Fisher Titus, Norwalk, Ohio.

She was born on April 22, 1924, to the late Sanford L. and Fanny (Madden) Ketcham, in Boonville, Indiana.

Vivian lived in the Milan and Norwalk areas since 1944, where she was a switchboard operator for Northern Ohio Telephone Company, Norwalk Truckline, and the Huron County Bank. She volunteered her time as a mentor to troubled youth through the Age Exchange and Senior Center, as well as volunteering at the Firelands Museum. Vivian was a former member of the Milan Methodist Church.

She enjoyed her stay at the Carriage House, where she made many new friends and united with some old friends as well. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, where she found great joy in each and everyone's activities and accomplishments, always making each child feel special and loved.

Vivian is survived by her children, Diane E. Mlincek, of Gainesville, Florida, Mary Kathryn (Ross) VanLerberghe, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Frank Ketcham (Linda) Eckler, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Virginia S. (Larry) Griffen, of Jefferson City, Missouri. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Paul A. Eckler in 1993, and by her siblings, Paul Ketcham, and Lillian Hewin.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel South Campus, 156 S. Norwalk Road, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Pastor David Brown will officiate.
