Iris A. Hamilton

Iris A. Hamilton, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Heritage Village Care Center, Clyde, Ohio.

She was born August 29, 1935 in Collins, Ohio, to the late Arthur L. and Grace A. (Force) Booth, and lived most of her life in the Norwalk area.

Iris was a former employee of Freudenberg Inc. of Milan, Ohio, and Thompson's Inc. of Monroeville, Ohio.

She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and genealogy, singing, music, supporting her grandchildren in all sporting and school activities including their special interests. She enjoyed reading, antiquing, history, going to flea markets, sitting by the campfire, and she enjoyed the simple way of life as well as spending time at the family farm. She loved the family pets, and had a special love for her daughter's horses, which she referred fondly to them as her own.

Iris also dearly loved her Lord and Savior, and seeked his word through Christian books and media, and she loved reading the word through her Bible. Most of all she loved her family very much, and enjoyed being surrounded by them.

Iris is survived by her children, Wendy Rene' (Bob) Manlet of Norwalk, Ohio, Gayle Lynn (Jim) Schneider of Castalia, Ohio, Gary Wayne (Teri) Hamilton of Norwalk, Ohio, and Lucky Clark (Michelle) Hamilton of Clyde, Ohio, by 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings, Eugene Victor (Trish) Metek of Medina, Ohio, Walter John (Ingrid) Metek of Germany, Robert LaVerne Metek of Medina, Ohio, John Richard (Theresa) Metek of Litchfield, Ohio, William Charles Metek of Lodi, Ohio, Katherine Sue (Dan) Carter of Litchfield, Ohio, and Christine Kay (Dennis) Rising of Wakeman, Ohio.

Iris is also survived by her extended family, John Booth of Toledo, Ohio, Larry Booth of Norwalk, Ohio, Roger Booth of Norwalk, Ohio, Kevin Booth of Milan, Ohio, Douglas Booth of Bellevue, Ohio, Mary Shifter of Toledo, Ohio, Jean Ross of Milan, Ohio, Becky Hire of Milan, Ohio, Melinda Swerlein, and Tina Hohman of Milan, Ohio.

Iris was preceded in death by her siblings, James Booth, Ardeth Ann Wheeler, and Julia Ann Molnar.

Friends may call on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Wally Gilbert will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857, or to Huron County Historical Society, 9 Case Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
