John J. Snoble Jr.

John J. Snoble Jr., 73, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, March 12, 2018 at his home.

John was born on March 7, 1945 in Sandusky, OH to the late John J. and Louise (LaRose) Snoble Sr.

John was a 1963 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps who proudly served his country two terms during the Vietnam War. He retired from New Departure/General Motors after 30 years of service. John was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #83, Amvets #29, VFW 2529, Eagles 444 and the Remember Crusin Car Club. He enjoyed classic cars, traveling out west and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. John coached Sandusky grade school football for 25 years.

John is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Hoelzer) Snoble, whom he married on October 12, 1968. He is also survived by his daughters, Gina Jenkins of Sandusky and Leah Trumpower of Huron; son, Adam Snoble of Sandusky; grandchildren, Brandon (Jyllian), Devin, Alexa, Cia, Renzo, Margo, Alec, Brady and Crew; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brenden, Caitlyn and Aalijah; sister, Marie Bopp of Apache Junction, AZ; brother, Lenny (Diane) Snoble of Mesa, AZ and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by an infant sister, Margaret and two nephews, John III and Danny.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:30 am. Father Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Military honors will follow by the Marines Forever. Burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
