Roy "Buddy" Terry

Roy "Buddy" Terry, 98, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday evening, April 5, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Roy was born on July 13, 1919 in New York, York to the late Nicholas and Inez (Fabre) Terry.

Buddy retired as a Postal Clerk with the United States Government after 20 years of service. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the former IAB Club, the American Legion #83, Amvets #29 and the V.F.W. #2529.

Buddy is survived by his sons, Deane (Donna) Terry of Arnold, MD and Dennis (Lisa) Terry of Vermilion; grandchildren, Shana, Nicholas, Gina, Clayton, Kristin and Eric; three great-grandchildren, Langston, Charlie and Alaina; sister, Eris Hale; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Mary (Sidoti) to whom he married on October 17, 1942, brothers, York and Michael Terry, sisters Rome Donovan, Wanda Hind and Caberia Anderson.

Friends may call on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky with Rev. Joseph Steinbauer. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Buddy's memory to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
