Carol was born on February 10, 1938 in Columbus, OH. She was one of seven children of Donald and Agnes (Hoyt) Hamler.

Carol loved her family and her children. Her grandbabies gave her the greatest joy, as well as her spoiled furry children. For many years, she was an avid doll collector, an accomplished craftsman and artisan. She enjoyed flower arranging and wreath making. She was also known for her great love of bargain hunting and junk shopping, giving her the nickname, "Bargain Ohlemacher."

Carol worked for Erie County Job & Family Services for 35 years before retiring in 1997.

She was married to Thomas K. Ohlemacher for 35 years and he precedes her in death in 2010.

Carol is survived by her children, Sue Ann (Christopher) Pfferkorn of Sandusky, Connie Lynn Foster of Gulfport, MS, Chris Slatton-Johnson of Sandusky and Lori Ann Halbeisen of Sandusky; grandchildren, Chase (Amy) Foster and Andrew (Jamie) Foster both of TX, Eli (Kacy Chandler) Johnson, Brock and Jacob Halbeisen both of Sandusky and Hannah (Timothy) Alexander of GA and great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Alexander. Siblings, Dona Jean Melton, William (Bernice) Hamler, Donald (Jill) Hamler Jr., Thomas (Nancy) Hamler and Patricia Shepherd and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol is preceded in death by her son, Dale Allen Ohlemacher; grandson, Jeremy Zavala; brother, Jerry Lee Hamler and brother-in-law, Robert Shepherd.

The family would like to acknowledge a special great nephew who was a great help and "gentle giant" to us in caring for mom, thank you Brady Riggleman!

Private family services will be held. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
