Thomas E. Blankenship

Thomas E. Blankenship, 87, residing in Huron, passed away Wednesday morning, May 16, 2018.

Thomas was born on December 21, 1930 in Delbarton, WV to the late George and Flora (Canterbury) Blankenship.

He resided in Delbarton and worked as a coal miner until he joined the military and proudly served our country during the Korean War. Thomas worked for Harvest States Con Agra Feed Mill in Huron, Scott Paper Company in Sandusky, and retired as an electrician from New Departure GM in Sandusky after 20 years of service.

Thomas was a kind, gentle, and genuine person to everyone he made contact with. He loved his Lord Jesus and enjoyed teaching Sunday school and leading the singing at his church for many years. His wife, children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life.

Thomas is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Robert) Wenzel and Pamela L. (Adam) Coles; sons, Thomas Jr. (Virgilio) Llanderal and George (Joellen) Blankenship and grandchildren, Jon Nickols Jr., William Coles, Erin Blankenship and Wyatt Coles.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Betty June (Chandler) Blankenship in 2003.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at Victory Temple Church, 1619 W. Strub Rd., Sandusky until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am. Pastor Luke Walters and Chad Robles will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
