Allen Montelauro

Allen Montelauro, 98, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, July 6, 2018 at Providence Care Center.

Allen was born on January 19, 1920 in Sandusky, OH to the late Allessio and Sabastiana (DeGrande) Montelauro.

Allen retired from the New Departure Ball Bearing Plant/General Motors in Sandusky. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII. Allen was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the UAW Local 913 and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Allen is survived by his son, Thomas (Barbara) Montelauro of Southgate, MI; grandchildren, Bonnie (Ed) Gross, Phillip (Tina) Baker, Mitch Sahadi, Gabriel (Beth) Sahadi, Annie (Jeff) Newman, Tony Montelauro, David (Angela) Montelauro and Nelson Montelauro; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Montelauro; daughters, Carole A. Baker and Judy Ellen Montelauro-Harrell; grandson, Allen Sahadi; sister, Yolanda Caramagno and brother, Gene Montelauro.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 3:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will take place Monday, July 9, 2018 in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
