Jack A. Brushaber

Jack A. Brushaber, 72, of Sandusky passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 30, 1946 in Sandusky where he has been a lifelong resident.

He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1964 and married the love of his life Mary Jane Fantozzi on August 12, 1967. Jack will now join her in heaven as she departed this earth June 19, 1992.

He worked as an electrician with Diamond S with his family until his MS caused his early retirement in 1979. Jack enjoyed being the chief cook and bottle washer for the years to follow. Being a homebound person, he thoroughly enjoyed when people stopped or called to check in. He had the same phone number since he moved to the house with the big tree on West Osborne.

Jack always enjoyed listening to the Indians and Ohio State games on TV. He loved to eat at Ming's and Nachos.

He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Sandusky, I.B.E.W., Local #129, Car Coddlers Club of Ohio, and he was a supporter of the Tri Motor Heritage Foundation.

Jack and Mary Jane were also former Girl Scout leaders.

He is survived by three daughters, Ann (Chris) Depuy of Sandusky, Gwyn (Brian) Stalkfleet of Mesa, AZ, Sarah (Benjamin) Meagrow of Sandusky; one son, Jack L. (Jessica) Brushaber of Sandusky; eight grandchildren, Roger & Michael Keen, Christopher Gysan, Bryan Depuy, Emma and Max Meagrow, Jacob & Jane Brushaber; one sister, Sally (Harry) Ploger of Largo, Fl; his four-legged best friend Marley; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dorothy (Johnson) Brushaber; one sister, Susan Murphy; and his in laws.

The family will fulfill his wishes and celebrate him privately.

Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky is assisting the family with arrangements.
