Donald N. Hipp

Donald N. Hipp, 83, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1935 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Oscar G. and Helen G. (Ball) Hipp, and was a lifelong area resident.

Don was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and a 1953 graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1958 to 1960.

Don was a lifelong brick layer and concrete mason. He was a former employee of Janotta and Herner, and was the founder of Don Hipp Builders. Don enjoyed woodworking, collecting and tinkering on tractors, gardening, growing roses, spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed his ever loving companion, his dog, Missie.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Etta L. (Howell) Hipp of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Susan M. (Allan) Hohman of Norwalk, Ohio, Thomas D. (Vicki) Hipp of Monroeville, Ohio, and Daniel A. (Denise) Hipp of Norwalk, Ohio, by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Don is also survived by his sister, Joanne (Donald) Stallkamp of Norwalk, Ohio, and his brother, James Hipp.

He was preceded in death by his son, David J. Hipp in 2005, by his sisters, Rosemary Hepp, and Judy Hartung, and his granddaughter, Kara Hipp in 1997.

Friends may call on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion.
