Wayne "Nick" W. Meyers, 93, residing in Perkins, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, April 14, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Wayne was born on January 1, 1926 in Castalia, OH to the late John Charles and Catherine W. (Ehrnsburger) Meyers.
Wayne retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service and operated a lawn and landscaping business for 22 years. He was a Veteran of the Army, Black Panthers Division who proudly served his county during WWII. He was a life time member of the VFW #2529 and AMVETS #17.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maurita (Burrows) Meyers, whom he married in May 1955. He is also survived by his son, Gary (Catherine) Meyers of Castalia; grandchildren Joshua (Cheryl) Meyers and Nick (Tori) Meyers; great-grandchildren, Austin and Emery; step-grandchildren, Dawn, Sylvia, Angie and Matthew; several step-great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Wobser, Geneva Shazar, Betty Brigley, Juanita King and Elaine King; brothers, Edward, Roland, Eugene, William, Jack and Donald Meyers and step-daughter, Patricia Blair.
Friends may call on Thursday, April, 18, 20149 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
