Marjorie A. Pressler

Marjorie A. Pressler, 81, Castalia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 31, 2011, at her residence.

She was born on April 12, 1930 in Fostoria, OH, and attended Sandusky High School. Marjorie worked at Philco and Apex, but then made being a homemaker her full-time job. On June 24, 1950, she married Wayne Pressler.  Their dance through life for the next 60 years began when “Margie” asked Wayne to be her partner for a ladies choice skate at Gem Beach Roller Skating Rink.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the ladies’ auxiliaries of the V.F.W. Post 2529 and the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky.  Marjorie loved the outdoors, wildlife, birds, fishing, and canoeing, as well as occasional one day trips to a casino later in her life.  She was a very loving and giving grandmother to her three grandchildren, whom she thought the world of.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Pressler, Morganton, NC, Paula (Greg) McGory, Sandusky, and Gregg A. (Doris) Pressler, Huron; grandchildren, Gregg W. Pressler, Meghan McGory, and Evan McGory; sister, Lois (Harold) Yeager, Castalia; brother, Harold (Barb) Baaske, Jr., Sandusky; brother-in-law, Wayne Weber, Florida; sister-in-law, Beverly Pressler, Sandusky; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Pressler, on April 16, 2008; parents, Harold and Vanessa (Werner) Baaske, Sr.; sisters, Joan Weber and Barbara J. Baaske; and a brother-in-law, Richard Pressler.

At her request there will be no visitation.  A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  Cremation will take place in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sandusky Central Catholic Schools, in honor of her children and grandchildren, 410 W. Jefferson St., Sandusky, OH 44870, or to Stein Hospice, in honor of her late husband, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.  Condolences may be shared with the family at www.toftfh.com.
