Sandra (Traughber) Pollom

Sandra (Traughber) Pollom, 79, Sandusky, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her loving children, after a brief illness.

Born on March 14,1940, to the late Thelma Hoffman Traughber and Rex Traughber, Sandra grew up in Sandusky, Ohio, and, aside from briefly living in Napoleon, Ohio, was a lifelong resident of Sandusky

Sandra graduated for Sandusky High School in 1958 and from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Education degree with a focus on Special Education in May of 1987. She was a longtime employee of Flippen's Junior Boot Shop in downtown Sandusky before working for Sandusky City Schools; first as a secretary then as an aide, then as a teacher for Sandusky High School from 1987 to 2005.

Sandra was an avid reader since she was 5 years old and passed her love of books to her children. Sandra was married on May 16,1959 to Richard T. Pollom.

She is survived by her four children; Kristinne (John) Seibel, Marion, OH, Melissa Pollom, Sandusky, Ted (Melissa) Pollom, and Jonathan Pollom, both of Plain City, OH; grandchildren, John (Alex) Seibel, Cleveland Heights, OH, Timothy Seibel, Cleveland, OH, Amanda Seibel, Marion, OH, Max Pollom, and Jake Pollom, both of Columbus, OH, and Gabrielle Pollom, Plain City, OH; great-granddaughters, Violet Wilson, Marion, OH and Ariana Rodriquez-Santiago, Webster, NY; Siblings, Rex (Judy) Traughber, Thorn Hill, TN, Lisa (David) Glovinsky, Marion, OH, Valena Snowden, Wooster, OH, and Rev. Jim (Janell) Pollom, Omaha, NE: Cousins, Ruth Carter, Lake Travis, TX and Susan (Jeff) Smith, Port Clinton, OH and many nieces and nephews scattered across the United States and niece, Melissa Jo Koch, Wolfsburg, Germany.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Pollom, Sr.; parents;; and a brother, Timothy Owen Traughber.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery. Rev. James Pollom will officiate.
