Charles "Chuck" Fischer Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Fischer Jr., 80, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, August 14, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Chuck was born on March 25, 1939 in New York, NY to the late Charles and Stella Fischer Sr.

Chuck graduated from Lincoln High School in Cleveland. He worked in intelligence in the US Army and stationed in Berlin, Germany when they built the Berlin Wall. Chuck explored many career paths but spent the majority of his time as a restaurant manager. In retirement, he enjoyed being a shuttle driver for area car dealerships, working at the Cedar Point Museum and Marina admissions gate, where he made a lot of international friends. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, going to various car races and spending time with his grandson.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Margaret (Augustine) Fischer, whom he married on August 20, 1966. He is also survived by his daughter, Heidi (Brandon) Blair of Toledo; grandson, Sidney; sister, Carol (Barney) Bahle of FL; brothers, Ed Fischer of Brunswick and Robert Fischer of Cleveland and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his son, Kurt Fischer.

Friends may call on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:30 am. Rev. Jan Smith Wood of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
