Kenneth Charles Gaydish

Kenneth Charles Gaydish 97, Sandusky died Saturday, November 23, 2019,
in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a very lengthy illness.

Ken was born in Sandusky on February 17, 1922 and served in the Army from 1945 to 1947.

He had such a love of the outdoors, worked as a commercial fisherman and
later in construction from which he retired. He also did fishing in the evening from
his boat to make extra money for the family. Many times he came home,
newspaper on the floor and a whole tub of fish he had to clean. He was also an
avid hunter and trapper. He had an amazing green thumb and enjoyed gardening,
and growing his beautiful roses among many other flowers and flowering bushes.
Nobody could out do Dad with his flowers even though my brother Frank tried.
Loved listening to Ernest Tubb and going to the Sail In to throw back a
green one or two and it was always "one more for the road." He always enjoyed
spending time with his five children, whom he had a very close relationship
with each one and his grandchildren. Loved fishing from his boat with his sons and
friends. So many people enjoyed his company. Ken will be deeply missed by
his family and his close friends.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Kathleen L (Ramon) Leal, 16 grandchildren, 34
great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mabel E (Paugh) Gaydish who passed away November 12, 2013; four sons, Kenny Jr, Jon, Frank and Robbie; parents, John Cyril and Mary
(Turkovitch) Gaydish; five brothers and seven sisters; along with a grandson,
Joseph Valdis Gaydish; and great-grandson, Oren David Proos.

The family is respecting his wishes and will not have a service. Ken doesn't want
anyone to be sad for him. He just asked that we all share all our great memories we
have with him and go "drink a green one for him." Always in our hearts.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
