Claudio Gonzalez, Sr., 85, Sandusky, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
He was born on December 3, 1925, in Karnes City, TX, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.
He was employed by Lake Erie Canning Company and retired from CertainTeed in Milan.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, AMVETS Post 17, Sandusky, and V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky.
Claudio is survived by his children, Anna Maria (Richard) Johnson, Bucyrus, OH, Noe Gonzales, Phoenix, AZ, Claudio Gonzales Jr., Nancy (Pablo) Alicea, Gary (Deana) Gonzales, Judy (Don) Parrish, Claude Wayne Quillen, Tracy Pou Alexander, all of Sandusky, and Norma Medelez, Texas; former wife and love of his life, Mariana Longoria Gonzales; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Elvira (Avalos) Gonzalez; sisters, Lucia and Sulema; and brothers, Manuel, Elias, Andres, Eliseo Jr., Samuel, and Ernesto.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 5 P.M. until time of funeral services at 7 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. Sandusky. Rev. John Adams will officiate. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. in the chapel at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. The American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard will provide the military tribute.
