Lawrence Michael Pensis

Lawrence Michael Pensis, 72, of Sandusky and formerly of Dillonvale, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born June 29, 1947 to the late Henry and Helen (Miller) Pensis, Jr.

He was a graduate of Dillonvale High School. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War where he became a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart. He later worked for the Department of Defense at the National Defense University. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori and Sonya Pensis; four grandchildren, Cameron Pensis, Myka Otis, Austin and Cody Mullens; his brother, Bruce (Diane) Pensis; his aunt, Theresa (Miller) Pensis; cousins, John Pensis, Michele (Pensis) Sumner and her husband Steven; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Lawrence Pensis, Jr.; his parents; and his uncle, Joseph Pensis.

Friends may call from 11:30 am until time of funeral mass at noon on Friday, January 31, 2020 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Military services will immediately follow. Burial will be in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
