Charles "Charlie" T. Crouch

Charles "Charlie" T. Crouch, 73, residing in Castalia, passed away Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020 at The Meadows at Osborn Park following a lengthy illness.

Charlie was born on April 6, 1947 in Sandusky, OH to the late Carl and Colette (Tremper) Crouch.

Charlie retired from Ohio Edison as a lineman and mechanic after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a long time member of the Sports Car Club of America. For his entire life, Charlie was an avid car enthusiast. He learned about cars from his father, who was a mechanic. In his early 20's, Charlie began racing cars in SCCA SOLO II events, and he and his wife, Carole, spent many years racing in a variety of events throughout Ohio. Later he restored his beloved Ford Mustang and was able to take it to many car shows, sharing all his stories with a great group of his friends and some respectfully known as "the car guys."

Charlie is survived by his wife, Carole (Eckhoff) Crouch, whom he married on November 14, 1970. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Crouch McGuire of Charlotte, NC and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his sisters, Colette Crouch, Marjorie Crouch and Celine Crouch Lambright; brother, Donald Crouch and several dear nieces and nephews.

Charlie's family would like to thank the incredible employees at The Meadows of Osborn Park, who did a miraculous job of caring for him these past few months, especially during the COVID pandemic. You are amazing, caring people!

Friends may call on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
