Joseph Michael Pepon

Joseph Michael Pepon, 91, Sandusky, died Saturday, July 4, 2020, in The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron.

He was born on June 30, 1929, in Marblehead, OH, to the late Joseph and Anna (Capko) Pepon.

Joe graduated from Danbury High School where he excelled in sports. He was employed by Ford Motor Company and worked as a powder monkey for the Marblehead Quarry.

He was an avid golfer, bowler, bowling on the Ford leagues, loved fishing, gardening, woodworking, playing and coaching softball, traveling with his wife, and was the treasurer of the Ford Retirees Traveling Club. Spending time with his family was most important to him.

He is survived by his children, Terri (Don) Lombardy and Tim (Lisa) Pepon, both of Marblehead; step children, Diane (James) Comer of Norwalk and Sebring, FL, and Cathy (Al Cooksey) Hill, Sandusky; grandchildren, Colette Miller and Carmen Slipher both of IN, Dennis Cennelly, TX, Matthew (Rita) Cennelly, Christine Cennelly and Kiersten Monak all of OH; ten great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; twin brother, Michael Joseph (Beatrice) Pepon, Marblehead; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Pepon; parents; son, Gary Pepon; granddaughter, Paula Renee Bean; and sisters, Anna Myers, Alice Cander, Marian Bird, and Elaine Kuznik.

Private family visitation and funeral services will be held in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
