William "Bill" Edward Green Jr., 80, passed away at Stein Hospice Care Center late Friday evening, July 24, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

Bill was born on October 8, 1939 to the late William E. and Love (Cross) Sr. and grew up in Shadyside, OH.

Bill attended Shadyside High School and graduated from Ohio Northern University where he studied to be a pharmacist. He was a dedicated professional and worked for over 40 years serving the communities of Bridgeport, Bellevue, and Sandusky during his career. He is most remembered by his family for his work ethic, and taught his sons by word and deed to do the same.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served state-side. He grew up in the Presbyterian Church and carried what he learned throughout his life.

He was a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club and the Sandusky Power Squadron. There was never a time he did not own a boat. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, collecting guns, knives, and beer steins, watching NASCAR and had a love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His family loved to hear him laugh and this would occur mostly when he watched a good sitcom after work.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen (Grimm) Rickman-Green, whom he married on February 2, 2003; two sons, William (Amanda) Green III of Massillon, OH and Mark (Mary) Green of Greytown, OH; four grandchildren, Abigail, William IV, Brenton, and Chase; step-son, Rob Dickman; one sister, Janet (Roger) Blind of Grand Junction, CO; one brother, Gary (Linda) Green of Jonathan, MI and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives living in Bucyrus and Ohio Valley.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Arlene (Moreland) in 2018.
At Bill's request there will be no services, but instead he requested those that knew him enjoy a walk by the lake and ponder the blessings of living in this beautiful world. He also requests we do the things we each need to do to stay healthy and safe.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line Sandusky, OH 44870.
