Daniel "Danny" J. Kelley

A beloved son, father, papa and husband left our world all too soon this week; Daniel "Danny" J. Kelley, 60, residing in Vermilion, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 4, 1959 to James L. and Marilyn (Brown) Kelley, Dan grew up with three sisters, one brother, and a heart of gold.

He graduated from Perkins High School in 1978, a star basketball player and friend to all. Known by some as "Tenner" or "Wid" or even "Daddy Mac", he had many nicknames and past times. Dan would light up any room he walked into; a real people pleaser and crowd favorite. He enjoyed Cleveland sports, The Ohio State Buckeyes, playing and coaching softball, riding his motorcycle, attending Kenny Chesney concerts, and spending time with his granddaughters and newest grandson, as well as his entire family.

He was employed at NuCo2 driving truck, and was previously employed with Polar Pure Carbonics and OE Meyer. He was a member of Amvets Post 17, Orioles Club, Vermilion VFW Post 7579, and the VFW Riders.

Dan is sadly missed and survived by his wife, Kim (Kendera) Kelley whom he spent his last 14 years with, mother, Marilyn Kelley; daughters, Lara (Matt) Fox of Los Angeles, Tiffany (Justin) Decker of Sandusky; stepsons, Christopher (Stephanie) Knapp of Sheffield Village, OH and Zachary Ball of Norwalk, OH; grandchildren, Madison Fox, Ella and Lillian Decker, and Anakin Knapp; sister, Lynda (Rick) Finneran of Sandusky; brother, Dave (Gwen) Kelley of Sandusky; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, as well as his loyal dogs Shayda, Bear, and Lucy.

Danny is preceded in death by his father, James L. Kelley; sisters, Candace L. Kelley and Jacque Fresch; and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Donna Kendera.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky.
