She also worked as a sales associate at Jo-Ann Fabrics.

She spent many years as a volunteer with the Lutheran Home Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Groton Township since 1945, an active member of the Women of the Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. She served as a 4-H advisor and was honored as an Outstanding 4-H advisor.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia and Vicki, 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, and Stephanie, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and several "adopted" daughters. She was proceeded in death by her husband Lewis, her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Betty has been a resident at the Willows at Bellevue for over 5 years, where the staff became her second family. The family wishes to thank all the staff members for their loving care over those years. The family also wishes to thank her visiting companion, Theresa, for her support and care for Betty.

At Betty's request, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
