Elijah Simon Pohorence

On Sunday, October 4th, 2020, Elijah Simon Pohorence went to be with his Savior, peacefully and surrounded by his Mommy, Daddy and brothers and sisters.

Elijah was born on October 1, 2020, to Joe and Whitney (Welschenbach) Pohorence.

Elijah was a true miracle. Born alive, against all odds, and able to go home with his family, he received and gave so much love in the short time he was with us. Elijah was in the Lord's hands from day one, and through God's strength, and his mother's amazing care, he made the amazing journey to his birth when all signs were that he wouldn't be able to. In his short time here with us he met each of his brothers and sisters, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the doctors and nurses that took such great care of him and his mother. We praise God for the time we were given with sweet Elijah and take comfort in the knowledge that he is resting safely and peacefully in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Elijah is survived by his loving mother and father Whitney and Joe, his brothers and sisters Emma (14), Cameron (12), Dawson (10), and Lucy (5), his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Elijah was preceded in death by his great grandfather Frank Pohorence, great grandmother Mary (Hutchinson) Crawford, great grandfather and great grandmother Nelson and Lettie Welschenbach, and his great grandfather and great grandmother James Justice and Lillian Brewster.

A private ceremony will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky and Abigail Pregnancy Services of Norwalk.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
