Eileen Roth-May, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, October 21, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.
Eileen was born on February 12, 1926 in Sandusky, OH to the late Frederick R. and Marcella (Weltlin) Butts.
Eileen graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1944. She retired from the Erie County Credit Bureau. Eileen was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she sang in the funeral choir. She practiced her Catholic faith through corporal works of mercy and her daily recitation of the rosary. In her spare time, she enjoyed her card club, and writing in her daily journal. She was the utmost caregiver throughout her life, and was proud of her grandkids and great grandkids, and attending their activities whenever she could.
Eileen is survived by her daughters, Daleen (Dennis) Kennedy, Valerie (Steve) Kennedy, Sharon (Todd) Wilson and Julie (Ed) Opfer; sons, Mark (Jan) Roth, Kyle (Cindy) Roth, Brad (Therese) Roth and Jude (Shelly) Roth; 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; step-children, Carolyn (Butch) Sisler, Christine May, Catherine (Paul) Burger, Steve (Linda) May and John (Keri) May; daughter-in-law, Sharon May and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Eileen is preceded in death by her first husband, Dale "Butch" Roth in 2001; second husband, Ralph A. May in 2014; sisters, Eloise Butts, Marilyn Butts and Mary (Elmer) Kromer and step-son, Mark May.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Monte Hoyles will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
