Judith Lilje, 81, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Thursday evening at Kingston Nursing Home of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
Judith was born on May 4, 1939 in Sandusky to the late George and Evelyn (Uhl) Staley.
Judith graduated from Sandusky High School in 1957. She worked at Lawyers Title Insurance, as well as owning and operating Country Tavern, and The Place Night Club with her husband Clarence. Judith was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sandusky. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting dolls and recipes. Judith also loved spending time with her dogs, Scooter and Topper.
Judith is survived by her sons, Kip (Cherie) Lilje of Vermilion, OH and Kevin Lilje of Sandusky, OH; sisters, Carol Stockley, Lois (Jim) Steckel, and Susan (Tom) Bogner; brothers, James (Diane) Staley and Thomas Staley; grandchild, Jill (Tony) Timoteo of North Ridgeville, OH; great-grandchildren Cooper and Baylor and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including her parents, Judith is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence V. Lilje in 2008 and brother-in-law, Ivan Stockley in 2000.
Private family services will be held at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Pastor Don Kuntz of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory will be assisting the family with arrangements.
