Tyrell Coleman Jones

Tyrell Coleman Jones 35, Sandusky departed this life on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the Cleveland Clinic.

He entered this world on January 30, 1985 at Memorial Hospital in Sandusky, OH into the loving arms of his mother, Tonya, as her first child.

Growing up, Tyrell spent a lot of time with his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Mildred, affectionately earning the nickname "Porky" from his grandfather. He was an active child who enjoyed playing basketball and climbing trees. It was during his early childhood that Tyrell first started getting ill, but the cause of his illness would not be discovered until many years later.

Tyrell attended Sandusky Public Schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade. During high school, he coached T-ball and worked at the YMCA. Tyrell loved his family and friends and enjoyed being around them whenever he could. He liked dogs, old school cars, reading magazines, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

In his late teens, the true nature of Tyrell's illness was discovered. He was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Fabry, which resulted in his declining health over the years. Tyrell had a strong-willed spirit, and despite numerous hospitalizations and severe health complications, he defied the odds many times.

On Friday, November 6, 2020, the Lord finally decided to call Tyrell home. He went peacefully in the presence of his mom and sister.

Tyrell will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his parents, James and Tonya Turner; baby sister, Tyra; adorable niece, Dynasty; cousin whom he looked up to, Yolonda "Londi" (David) Sanders of Columbus, OH; special cousins, Willie Steve "Dimp" Irby of Beaufort, SC, Tia Sanders of Columbus, OH, and Tre Wilson of San Diego, CA; aunt, Gladys (Salis) Pascley of Millry, AL; cousin and caretaker, Tanisha Conway; godmother, Bobbie Jackie Mayne; special aunt, Ann Brown; uncle after whom he received his middle name, Coleman "Fish" (Anita) Marshall, all of Sandusky, OH; longtime friends, Daimean Coleman, Toni Cozart, and Willie Porter; countless other relatives and friends; and his pitbull, Brick.

Tyrell was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jones; maternal grandparents, Reverend Emeritus Samuel and Mildred Mickles; maternal grandfather, Felacy Gowdy; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Louise Dixon; uncle, Eric Edwards; and aunt, Alea Jones.

Friends may call on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Scottie Aaron will be the eulogist. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
