In her younger years, Mary was a professional seamstress at J.C. Penny Co. and Brides World, designing wedding dresses. Mary also worked as an elderly care giver for the Erie County Health Dept and was a certified master food preserver.

Upon retirement, Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, and designing dresses and clothing for her family, friends, and anyone in need of her time and talents. Mary was a very giving person and never expected anything in return. She was a devoted woman of faith and was a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Vickery, and the Founders Community Church, Castalia.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russell R. Hula; daughter Marian (William) Fischer, Huron; sons Michael (Kyle) Hula, Sandusky; Edward (Amy) Hula, Huron; six grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Michaela, Angela, Katelyn, and Ana Mae; 14 great grandchildren; five brothers Gregory, Micheal, Harry, Peter, and Frank; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Mary (Wasilko) Hanchar; son in infancy David; and sister Carol Ann.
