Doris E. Legg

Doris E. Legg, 89, residing in Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Doris was born on August 6, 1931 in Ansted, WV to the late Charles and Sallie (Crist) Davis.

Doris was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Sandusky. She was a loving, compassionate and fiercely loyal mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and baker, a loyal Cleveland Indians fan, never met an animal she didn't befriend, and enjoyed gardening. Christmas was her favorite holiday, which she made special for everyone, but above all else, she loved her family.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Legg; sons, Mark (Marla) Legg and Mike Legg; grandsons, Brian, Brandon, Brett and Andrew Legg; granddaughter, Christine (Ryan) Boesch; three great-grandchildren; sister, Faye (Wayne) Kincaid; brother, Jerry Davis; sister-in-law, Pat Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Darrel Legg; two sisters, Edna Jane Davis and Loretta (James) Kincaid; two brothers, Charles Davis and Edward Ray Davis; daughter-in-law, Linda Legg; and sister-in-law, Joanna Davis.

Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky, OH with Pastor Ken Hiser presiding. Entombment will follow.

Those wishing to contribute to Doris' memory may do so to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 480 W. Dussell Dr. Maumee, OH 43537 or to the Humane Society of Erie County 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH, 44870.
