Virginia (Glass) Bohn

Virginia (Glass) Bohn, age 93, departed this life for her heavenly home, January 14, 2021, at the Willows at Bellevue.

Born July 22, 1927, to Basil and Marion (Scherer) Glass, Virginia was a self-proclaimed "nature nut" who loved all of God's creation, but most of all her fellow humans.

She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, fishing, and spending time with family.

A 1945 graduate of Margaretta High School, she was employed briefly at Periodical Publishers and Philco Corp. before finding her dream job as a reporter at the Sandusky Register which also proved to be short lived as she left in 1948 when she married Jack D. Bohn and they began their family. Once their children were all in school, Virginia went back to work for the Margaretta School system as an administrative assistant, first at Townsend Elementary and later the high school; retiring in 1975.

In her 73 years as a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, Virginia heard and accepted the call to numerous opportunities to serve. Most fulfilling was time spent with local youth as both a Sunday School and Catechism teacher and as a counselor at Lutheran Memorial Bible Camp; and many years of visiting and taking communion to homebound members.

Surviving are her children Susan Mix, Jeff (Christine) Bohn, Barbara (Dave) Walczak, Chris (Tim) Niemeyer, Larry (Laura) Bohn, and Mary (Joey) Supina. She is also survived by grandchildren Julie (Chris) Wall, Mariposa Obsidiana, Renee (Ryan) Twining, Jessica (Matt) Dearth, Keith (Emily) Niemeyer, Ryan (Kelly) Bohn, Christopher (Amanda) Bohn, Chantelle (Matt) Duskins, Kayleigh (Josh) Allen, and Bryce Bohn; twenty one great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brother and sister in-law Max and Patti Bohn; sisters in-law Patricia Gardner, Betty and Delores Bohn, and Ruth Glass; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack D. Bohn in December of 2017; brother Bill Glass, 2019; great granddaughter Graelyn Bohn, 2014; brothers in-law Bill and George Bohn, 2016.

A celebration of life and burial will held at a later a date. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, in charge of the arrangements.
