Charles Fredrick Elswick

Charles Fredrick Elswick, age 75, of Sandusky, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born on July 24, 1945, in Ironton, OH, to Owen and Opal Elswick and attended Port Clinton High School.

On June 5, 1965, he married Priscilla (Sis) Carroll and they happily spent 55 years together. Charlie worked at Cedar Point for 39 years as a ride mechanic and became a ride mechanic foreman followed by supervisor.

Charlie spent his retired years gambling at casinos, traveling, and watching old westerns in his chair. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing, golfing, and bowling. Charlie's favorite activities included anything to do with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He came to countless football games, wrestling meets, and dance competitions just to watch his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion and Orioles Clubs. He also loved country music, especially Alan Jackson.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Priscilla Elswick; son David (Vicki) Elswick; daughter Kimberly Filipiak; grandchildren, Kylin (Kourtney) Elswick, Charles (Hayley) Elswick, Zerica Filipiak, and Zachary Filipiak; great-grandsons, Kadin and Knox Elswick; brother in law Don Carroll, sister in law Rebecca Harris; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Opal Elswick; brothers Gene, Carl, and Roy Elswick; and son in law Joseph Filipiak.

Private family services will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Services, Castalia.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to St. Jude's Foundation 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
