William Hinton Findley, Sr.

William Hinton Findley, Sr., 82, Sandusky, died on Thursday, November 4, 2010 in Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born on December 28, 1927 in Wagar, Alabama. He taught at the Ohio Business College for over 26 years, was the owner of Wild Bill's Auction, and was a comptroller for the former Providence Hospital. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and computers.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie (McCorkle) Findley, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1949; daughters, Deborah S. Coffey, Sandusky, and Jane Singler, Toledo; sons, S. Craig, Findley, Sr., Sandusky, Marc E. Findley, North Baltimore, OH, and Joseph C. Findley, II, Florence, KY; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Janie Joe Melvin, Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Eugenié (Hinton) Findley, son, William H. Findley, Jr., on September 11, 1993; brother, Joseph C. Findley, Jr.; and sister, Dorothy A. Valmore.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 4 until time of memorial services at 6 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Mel Sayler will officiate.
