Janice Ann Meadows

Janice Ann Meadows, 82, of Sandusky died peacefully in her sleep on January 29, 2021 at The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's dementia.

She was born September 7, 1938 in Bucyrus, Ohio. She was a 1958 graduate of Lucas High School, Lucas, Ohio and lived her early years in the Richland and Ashland counties area before moving to Arizona, Mississippi, and back to Mansfield, Ohio.

She was a Mississippi and Ohio certified STNA and enjoyed working with patients in Mississippi and at the Memorial Home in Mansfield.

Janice enjoyed painting, sewing, writing lyrics to Christian songs, and singing in church choirs. A devout Christian, she was a proud prayer warrior and longed to be at home with the Lord. While in Mansfield, she and her husband were dedicated to an area church food mission working with food banks and providing food and clothing for those in need throughout the year.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Grillo, Frank Grillo, and Lorie Linn, all of Florida; one brother, Ronald M. Ruble of Huron; sister-in-law, Janet Briner of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Bianca, Anselmo, Michael, Jessie, Erika, and Ryan; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Meadows; father, Merlin Edward "Andy" Ruble; mother, Dessie C. (Shaw) Briner; stepfather, Eldred Roy "Al" Briner; sister, Jackie Lou Ruble; and stepbrother, George "Bud" Briner.

There will be no visitation or graveside service. Funeral service for the immediate family will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. The service will be conducted by Pastor Kristofer P. Ruble. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family would like to thank the administrative and medical staffs at The Meadows at Osborn Park for their compassionate and loving care of Janice.
