Benjamin Aaron Villarreal

Benjamin Aaron Villarreal, 38, residing in Norwalk, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 unexpectedly at his home.

Ben was born on March 29, 1983 in Sandusky, OH to the late Angelica Maria Villarreal.

Ben graduated in 2001 from Sandusky High School. He was employed as a driver at Sirna and Sons, and previously worked in maintenance and as a handyman for a variety of companies. Ben was a Melchizedek Priesthood holder. He served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Las Vegas, Nevada West Mission. Ben was a simple man; he enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. He was a jack of all trades. He loved to share the gospel and was a great storyteller, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was also a great listener. He had a love for pets, including his pit bull, Tiger Ray. Above all, Ben loved his children and family fiercely.

Ben is survived by his wife, Tara (Blakely)Villarreal; children, Samiya, Cimara, Charles JR, and Soriah; father, Hayward (Gail) Cothron of FL; aunts, Asusena Brown of Sandusky, Adelina (Walter) Zenowicz of Bellevue, Aida Cambra of Sandusky, Anita (Edward) Burdue of Berlin Heights and Amanda Villarreal of Williston, OH; uncles, Leopoldo S. Villarreal Jr., Jose (Liz Fisher) Villarreal and Benjamin (Josefina) Villarreal all of Sandusky, Juan Mancias of CO; great-aunts, Leelah Cruz and Mary (Joe) Durso, both of Lima, OH and 35 loving cousins, raised as siblings.

In addition to his mother, Ben is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leopoldo M. and Hortencia C. (Cruz) Villarreal; great-aunt, Rosie Hall; and cousin, Dustin Villarreal.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 10:00am until time of funeral services at 11:00am in the funeral home. Bishop Rob Coffelt will be presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
