Amanda Ellen "Ellie" Weedman

Amanda Ellen "Ellie" Weedman, 87 residing in Sandusky passed away Friday evening at the Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.

Ellie was born on May 9, 1934, in Leslie County, KY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Begley) Stidham.

At the age of 26, she moved to Sandusky, Ohio and would go on to work 49 years at Markley's Restaurant. She truly loved her job because of her co-workers and the customers. Ellie enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses, refinishing furniture projects, caring for her home, taking care of her precious dogs, but mostly enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family and friends.

Ellie is survived by her daughters, Tamie Rippon of Norwalk, OH, and Susan Hershiser of Sandusky, OH; six grandchildren, Greg Rippon, Tiffin, OH, Jason Rippon, Norwalk, OH, Amber (Jay) Shipley, Monroeville, OH, Annie Hershiser, Nathan Hershiser both of Sandusky, OH, and John (Marsha) Wooten, Akron, OH; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Sami Wooten; three sisters, Nan Conrad, Sandusky, OH, Madge Wohlgemuth, Krypton, KY, and Joann (Bill) Howard, Buckhorn, KY; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Melton and Frances Stidham along with several nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. in 1995 to whom she was married to for 34 years; her oldest daughter, Teresa Wooten in 2011; grandchild, Erica Lynn Rippon; great grandchild, Eliza Lynn Keller; son-in-law, Jerry D. Wooten in 2011, and four brothers, Asberry "Berry" "Red", John, Roger "Pete", and Farris Stidham.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 9:30 am until time of services at 10:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky. Pastor Tony Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery, Huron.

The family of Ellie Weedman would like to thank Ohioans, especially nurse Beth. Ellie's family will always be grateful for the excellent care and attention Ellie received while at the Stein Hospice Facility, from all the nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and bereavement counselor, Steve Boros.
