Edward J. Andres

Edward J. Andres, 89, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Thursday evening, December 30, 2021 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Edward was born on September 18, 1932 in Sandusky, OH to the late Joseph and Magdalin Elizabeth (Perla) Andres.

Edward retired as a supervisor from Sandusky International in 1994 after 40 years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force who proudly served his country during the Korean War. Edward was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2529 and the American Legion Post 83. He enjoyed woodworking, games of chance and spending time with his family and friends.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Dedre (Jim) Petersen of Sandusky; son, whom passed two days following his father, Edward (Susan) Andres Jr; grandchildren, Laura Bennett, Lisa (Michael Moore) Andres and Joseph (Kelsey) Andres; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Owen; sister, Marlene Harrelson and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Andres in 2002; sister, Phyllis Cartner and brother, Melvin and Eldred "Butch" Andres.

Private family services will be held at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Deacon John Bialorucki will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Please wear masks and practice social distancing while in attendance.
