Maxine "Mac" Celeste Carroll (Grissom) Corbitt

Maxine "Mac" Celeste Carroll (Grissom) Corbitt, 81 residing in Heath, Ohio passed away from her earthly treasures to her heavenly reward on May 30, 2022 in Newark, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Maxine was born September 10, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Charles and Ruth (Latimer) Grissom.

She was a proud native of Sandusky, Ohio where she obtained a formal education through the Sandusky School System.

Maxine was baptized as a child at the historical Second Baptist Church of Sandusky.

In 2021, under the leadership of "HER" adored Pastor Curtis L. Johnson Jr. she gladly rededicated her life to Christ and joined New Jerusalem MBC during a parking lot worship service under an "open heaven."

Maxine held several notable jobs within the community where she established lifetime friendships namely at the original Frisch's Big Boy, Cedar Point, and Ford Motor Company where she not only landed her job of 30 years in which she retired from but she ultimately met the love of her life, David Oree Corbitt, who was her very best friend, her confidant, her companion, and her number one fan for 46 years.

Maxine was very blessed with a wonderful blended family ( also created and supported by her late ex- husband Walter Cunningham Jr. & by David's late ex-wife Ivee (Hart) Corbitt. She took great joy in being called momma,ma, mommy and grandma. Her family justified her on this earth, she was a woman of comfortable means, ,she was a giver not hesitating to open her doors to anyone in need of love and shelter or feeding you when you just "looked" hungry. She was a nurturer to her core acquiring children not by blood but by love. Anyone that knew her knew she loved her husband earnestly and wholeheartedly.

After moving to Heath in 2008, she enjoyed attending her granddaughter's sporting events. As the best caretaker to her husband she never failed to meet the needs of David or even the needs of the family dog, Oreo.

Maxine was a borderline comedian wanting everyone to laugh and to be happy. She enjoyed watching tv, and looking at Facebook to keep up with all of her family, it was nothing for her to FaceTime you if she seen something you didn't particularly care for...She was quick to let you know she was grateful to God for living a good life.
